For a price of ~$20 after tax and tip, Tsuta is just good, not great. Tsuta in Tokyo which has a Michelin Star is closer in price to $13 which is far more reasonable. Tsuta is very tasty. It’s just not worth $20. Sure, Tsuta has cheaper options but you’ll get less food and will definitely leave hungry. The $12 offering with only one slice of chashu just isn’t a viable option. Sorry.
Tsuta is a convenient location if you’re trying to catch a movie at AMC Metreon, but if you’re not in the area, there is an abundant number of other Japanese noodle shops that I’d recommend: Marugame Udon, Nojo Ramen Tavern, Ippudo, Izakaya Sozai, Marufuku Ramen, Ramen Yamadaya… the list goes on and on.
